Nolan Laufenberg named honorable mention All-American
Air Force senior offensive linemen Nolan Laufenberg and Parker Ferguson were each named first-team all-Mountain West by Phil Steele Magazine. Senior offensive lineman Kyle Krepsz and sophomore fullback Brad Roberts were each named third-team, while senior defensive lineman George Silvanic earned fourth-team honors. The publication also tabbed Laufenberg as an honorable mention All-American.
Laufenberg and Ferguson were each named to the watch list for the 2020 Outland Trophy, recognizing 85 standout interior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conference and independents. Air Force is one of 17 schools with multiple players selected.
The offensive line has paved the way for Air Force to lead the nation in rushing with a 305.7 average. The Falcons led the conference and ranked third nationally in fewest sacks allowed with two. Air Force led the Mountain West in time of possession with a 34:29 mark.
Roberts leads the Falcons in rushing this season with 461 yards and five touchdowns. His 115.2 per-game average would have led the conference in rushing, but he did not qualify due to playing in only four games. Silvanic led the Falcons in tackles for loss with 4.5, sacks with 2.5 and was second on the team in total tackles with 34.
Air Force finished the season with a 3-3 overall record. The Falcons were fifth in the MW with a 2-2 mark.
