The Falcons welcome Mesa, Mines, and Northern Colorado to the Cadet Natatorium
USAFA, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team begins the spring portion of the 2020-21 regular season when it returns to the Cadet Natatorium for a two-day quad-meet, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 8-9. The Falcons will play host to Northern Colorado, Colorado Mesa, and the Colorado School of Mines.
Friday's action begins at 4:30 p.m. MT, while Saturday's will start at 9 a.m. MT. The meets will be closed to the public, but will be streamed live on the AF Falcons YouTube page.
Both days of competition will be team-scoring events, with 13 events on Friday and 12 on Saturday.
Air Force is coming off of a tri-meet split right before the New Year against a pair of Mountain West foes. AF defeated Colorado State, 177-123, while falling to Wyoming, 165-135. The Falcons won seven of the 16 events contested on the evening. Leading the way was sophomore Sefilina Maile, who won a pair of freestyle events, the 50 and 100. For her efforts, she was named the MW Swimmer of the Week.
Last season against these opponents, AF went a perfect 4-0, including two wins over Mesa. The final tally against UNC was 147-91.
This weekend marks a busy January for AF, as it is the first weekend of three weekends in a row competing to start 2021. AF's next event will come the weekend of Jan. 15-16, when they once against host Wyoming both days, as well as BYU on Saturday the 16th.
