
Falcon Wrestling to Compete at Mountaineer Invite, Sunday

Air Force travels to Boone, North Carolina, to compete at the Mountaineer Invite, hosted by Appalachian State, Sunday morning, November 14. Seven teams are scheduled to participate, with the Big Ten, Pac-12, ACC, Big 12, MAC and Southern Conference all represented.
Competition in Varsity Gym is scheduled to begin on six mats at 9 a.m., with doors opening to fans at 8 a.m., and live scoring will be available through FloArena.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
In addition to the Falcons' national qualifier in No. 17 Ranked Jared Van Vleet, App State will host with seven NCAA qualifiers from last season. Arizona State has the nation's eighth-ranked team with a myriad of ranked wrestlers and All-Americans. There will also be wrestlers from Indiana, Duke, Kent State and Gardner-Webb — Illinois is no longer participating in the event.

Air Force seniors Jared Van Vleet and Sidney Flores led the Falcons with a co-champion finish at the Citadel Open, hosted by the Citadel at McAlister Field House. The Falcons competed against NC State, currently ranked the sixth-best team in the nation by FloWrestling, Duke and Presbyterian. Flores knocked off No. 11th Jarrett Trombley of NC State en route to the top-finish, besting him with a 6-4 decision.
