JUNIOR QB HAAZIQ DANIELS ONLY NCAA PLAYER TO CURRENTLY HOLD LONGEST RECORDS

Junior quarterback Haaziq Daniels holds a special distinction this season. He is the only FBS player to currently hold school records for longest run and pass. Daniels has accomplished both this season.

Daniels broke a 50-year-old Air Force record with a 94-yard touchdown run against FAU, breaking the record of 88 yards set by Joel Carlson vs. Army in 1971. The run was the longest in the nation that weekend, the longest by an FBS quarterback in 18 years (95 yards, Kyle Herm, Rice vs. Nevada, in 2003) and the longest by a Mountain West player since Rashaad Penny of San Diego State went 95 yards in 2017 vs. Arizona State.

Daniels broke the school record for longest pass with a 92-yard effort for a touchdown at Colorado State, breaking the mark of 89 yards set by Dave Ziebart vs. Wyoming in 1976.

Daniels is having an outstanding season. He is second on the team in rushing with 643 yards and nine touchdowns on 132 carries. He has scored a rushing touchdown in six games. Daniels has hit 42-89 passes for 909 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. He ranks in the top 10 in the MW in four categories: yards per carry (6th, 4.87), rushing yards per game (9th, 64.3), total offense (9th, 155.2) and passing yards per game (10th, 90.9).
