Nine Falcons Claim Victories at Friday Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Nine members of the Air Force boxing team picked up victories during the latest installment of Friday Night Fights, which was held on Nov. 19 in the Cadet Boxing Room. Sophomore Joe Wilson earned the team's Boxer of the Week honor after claiming a split decision victory over Jacob Mendoza in the 185-pound bout.

Wilson was one of three Falcons to earn a split decision on the night, as Seda Tsarni defeated Allyah Marlett at 165 pounds and Luke Kohout earned a win over Robert Marzicola at 168 pounds.

The remaining six winners were all determined by unanimous decision. Cassidy Rosa opened the event with a 133-pound win over Charisse Tigrado, while Lawrence Barrett decisioned Jordan Dutcher in the first men's contest at 138 pounds. Alexis Lee earned a 146-pund victory over Peyton Glenn, while Nile Owens won his 156-pound bout with Jensen Garcia. Hannah Schuster defeated Billie Botes in a 161-pound contest and Andrew Ison rounded out the list of victors with a 176-pound decision over Haydar Aran.

The Falcons close out the Fall semester on Monday (Nov. 22), when select boxers travel to New York for the annual Arthur Mercante Invitational.
