Falcons sweep Nebraska in Lincoln

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team shot its second highest score of the season with a 4708-4691 victory over Nebraska, in a dual meet on Sunday, Nov. 21, in Lincoln, Neb. Air Force swept a pair of duals against the Cornhuskers and improved to 8-1 in dual meets this season.

The 4708 was second to the team's 4714 in the season-opening meet against UTEP.

Freshman Scott Rockett posted the highest aggregate score with an 1184. He matched his season high with a 599 in air rifle. Sophomore Peninah D'Souza was third with a score of 1178 (579-599). Devin Schwindt shot an 1169 while Lauren Hurley fired an 1167. Ryan Habeck shot an 1166 and Jordan Williams shot 1164.

Nebraska won the smallbore by one point and claimed the top two individuals. Rockett was third in smallbore (585) while Schwindt was fourth (584 and Habeck was fifth (582).

Air Force won the air rifle for the second straight day, 2378-2360. Air Force claimed the top three spots in air rifle as Rockett and D'Souza each shot 599 and Hurley shot 593.

Air Force is now off until the Winter Air Gun Championships, Dec. 10-12, in Anniston, Ala.
