Five Falcons competed at USA Shooting Winter Air Gun Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Five Air Force shooters competed in the USA Winter Air Gun Championships, Dec. 10-12, in Anniston, Ala. The USA Winter Air Gun serves as a national championship and also gives athletes an opportunity to earn slots on the U.S. Team based on their three-day results.
Sophomore Peninah D'Souza posted a score that puts her on the U.S. National Team. D'Souza will compete for Team USA at future World Cups and other national events. Her average placed her third behind two female shooters who both competed for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics.
D'Souza and freshman Scott Rockett both qualified for the finals. Rockett qualified for the finals in men's air rifle and placed fifth with an aggregate score of 206.3. D'Souza placed seventh with an aggregate score of 142.5
In the U21 Super Finals, Rocket won the competition with a 248.7. Souza placed second (248.6) and freshman Lauren Hurley was 31st (101.7),
Senior Peter Fiori placed 12th on day three with an aggregate score of 624.1. Hurley placed 18th with a 621.2 and Jordan Williams placed 24h with a 619.9, both setting new personal highs.
Air Force is now off until a pair of dual matches in Fairbanks, Alaska, Jan. 21-23.
