Air Force Downed By Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Air Force men's basketball fell to Tarleton State, 67-45, Tuesday night at Wisdom Gym. The Falcons wrap up non-conference play with a 7-4 mark, while the Texans moved to 5-8.
Facing a stifling pressure defense, the Falcons were unable to find any momentum on offense. Air Force was forced into 18 turnovers and shot 41 percent from the field.
Tarleton State took a 21-14 lead into halftime in a physical first-half where points were at a premium. The Texans then took control of the game by shooting 77 percent from the field in the second half, out-scoring the Falcons 46-31. Tarleton State shot 58 percent from the field for the game. Tahj Small led four Texas in double figures with 14 points. Freddy Hicks added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Freshman Jake Heidbreder led the Falcons with a career-high 15 points. Heidbreder was 5 of 12 from the field, hitting a career-high three three-point baskets. Sophomore guard Joseph Octave added nine points and senior guard AJ Walker chipped in with six points.
Junior forward Nikc Jackson had a season-high six rebounds and freshman guard Ethan Taylor had a team-high four assists. Freshman Jake Murphy also made his first-career basket on a three-point basket.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 29, opening Mountain West play by hosting Utah State. Game time is 1 pm MT and the game will be broadcast on the MWN/FalconVision.
