Women’s Swimming Comes up Shy at San Diego State, 108-91

SAN DIEGO – Air Force come up short in a Mountain West dual meet against hosting San Diego State, 108.00-91.00, Tuesday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex. The Falcons saw victories in three events with 14 individual top-three finishes.
Air Force's Lauren Arnold, Kendra Joachim and Katie Kucik finished first, second, and third, respectively, in the 500 freestyle, with Arnold posting a 5:12.49 to win. Kimmy Woolfenden took the top finish in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:24.03, while teammate Corbyn Cormack finished second (2:26.62).
The Falcons' 200 free relay team of Abby Turner, Brooke Costella, Raquelle Roesch and Addie Orris took the first-place finish with a 1:40.70. Air Force's second-place team (1:41.42) was comprised of Kara Gavin, Charlotte Choo, Anna Ashley and Allana Clarke.
Arnold beat her season-best in her second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle, posting a 10:32.46 for Air Force's fourth-best time in the event this season.
Cormack's 2:06.38 third-place finish in the 200 IM marks the Falcons' third-best score in the event this season. She holds the top-time of 1:59.40.
The meet marked Air Force's final action of the 2021 calendar year. The Falcons will enjoy a holiday break before inviting Dixie State, Northern Colorado, Colorado Mesa, Colorado Mines to Cadet Natatorium for meets on January 7th and 8th. Action is slated for a 4 p.m. start on Friday.
