Men's Swimming Concludes Day One of the First Chance Meet

AF competed in six swims on the day
DENVER, Colo. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming team concluded day one of the First Chance Meet Friday evening, Feb. 12, at the El Pomar Natatorium on the campus of the University of Denver. No team scores were kept, as the First Chance Meet serves as one of the final tune-ups before the Western Athletic Conference Championships.
The Falcons competed in six events on the day, the 400 IM, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly, and 50 free.
In the 400 IM, freshmen Joseph Moore and Chris Lindley swam season-best times. In the 200 free, sophomore and reigning WAC Freshman of the Year Wen Zhang made his season debut, and did not miss a beat, clocking in with a steady 1:36.14. The time marks the best in the WAC this season.
Junior Isaac Gwin had the top time in the 100 back, with a solid 47.23. In the 100 breast, sophomore Tory Bartlett touched the wall first for AF with a 55.35. In the 200 fly, junior Andrew Limpert paced the Falcons with a 1:49.88. Finally, in the 50 free sprint, Zhang was one again the leader with a 20.49.
AF will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 13, for day two of the First Chance Meet. Action from the Mile High City is set to start at 10 a.m. MT.
