Women's Swimming Complete Day One of the First Chance Meet

DENVER, Colo. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming team concluded day one of the First Chance Meet Friday evening, Feb. 12, at the El Pomar Natatorium on the campus of the University of Denver. No team scores were kept, as the First Chance Meet serves as one of the final tune-ups before the Mountain West Championships.

The Falcons competed in six events on the day, the 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly, and 50 free and 1650 free.

In the 200 free, freshman Raquelle Roesch touched in first for the Falcons with a 1:56.59. In the 100 back, freshman Madigan Starr paced AF with a 58.67.

Freshman Audrey Hines turned in a season-best time in the 100 breast with a 1:05.14. In the 200 fly, Starr was once again the top AF finisher, with a 2:12.98. The 50 free sprint saw Roesch finish first for the Falcons as well, as she touched the wall in 24.73. Finally, the 1650 free, sophomore Gina Jenkins led the way with an 18:09.49.

AF will be back in action tomorrow, Feb. 13, for day two of the First Chance Meet. Action from the Mile High City is set to start at 10 a.m. MT.
