Rifle falls to TCU

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team was in Fort Worth, Texas, today, Feb. 18, for a match against TCU. In the smallbore, Air Force lost 2319–2330. The Falcons also lost in air rifle, 2364-2377. In final team scoring, it was Air Force 4683, TCU 4707.

Jordan Williams was the Falcons' top finisher in the smallbore with a score of 583, his career best. Peter Fiori and Devin Schwindt followed, both scoring a 580. Ryan Habeck finished the event with a 576, while Morgan Kreb had a 575.

In the air rifle, Kreb had the team's top score of 595. Fiori finished with a score of 594. Habeck scored a 589 and Williams had a 586. D'Souza finished with a 585.

Also shooting in the smallbore match was Peninah D'Souza who scored a 571, and Dante Aletto who had a 568. In the air rifle, Aletto scored a 568, while Schwindt finished with a 574.

The Falcons' aggregate scores were as follows: Aletto (1136), D'Souza (1156), Fiori (1174), Habeck (1165), Kreb (1170), and Schwindt (1154). Williams finished the day with an 1169 career best.

In the NCAA Qualifier Match, Air Force and TCU will face off Saturday, Feb. 20, at Fort Worth. The qualifying team scores will be added to each team's top-ranking scores for qualification to the NCAA Rifle Championships in March. The NCAA will announce the top-eight teams and top individual qualifiers on Feb. 23.
