
Rifle team finished eighth in NCAA Championships

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – The 2021 NCAA Rifle Championships came to a close today, March 13, in Columbus, Ohio. Following today's air rifle championships, the Air Force rifle team finished eighth in the country.
In Friday's smallbore competition, the Falcons finished seventh with 2312 point. On Saturday, the air rifle team finished eighth in the event with a score of 2344. The team's final score was 4656. The University of Kentucky was the national champion with a team score of 4731.
Colorado Springs native Morgan Kreb (The Village) was the team's top scorer with an 1168. She scored a 576 in the smallbore and finished up with a 592 in the air rifle.
Jordan Williams, who is also from Colorado Springs (Doherty), finished with an 1159 aggregate. He scored a 569 in smallbore and a 590 in the air rifle.
Ryan Habeck (Fort Pierre, SD) scored a 581 in smallbore and then had a 581 in the air rifle. His final score was 1162.
Peninah D'Souza (Ellicott City, MD) scored 1155 points, she had a 574 in smallbore and 581 in the air rifle.
Devin Schwindt (Lees Summit, MO) finished with an 1145, his smallbore score was 581, and his air rifle score was 564.
The NCAA Rifle Championships concluded the rifle team's season which ended in a 9-8 record. The team finished second in the Patriot Rifle Championships (4-5) in February, and four cadet-athletes claimed all-conference honors. The team also claimed the 2020 All-Service Academies President's Trophy in November.
