Men’s Tennis Drops Mountain West Opener At Nevada, 4-3

Air Force men's tennis (4-6, 0-1 MW) dropped a 4-3 match at Nevada (5-5, 1-0 MW) Friday afternoon at McArthur Tennis Center in Reno, Nevada.
The Falcons led 3-2 late, but was unable to get the match point as the Wolf Pack rallied back with the final two wins in singles play.
Air Force opened strong by winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to get the first point. Sean McKendree and Justin Waldman won at No. 3 over Loris Zisswiller and Benjamin Campi 6-3 for the first doubles win. Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista then fell at No. 1 to Juan Batalla and Isaac Nortney 6-4 to tie it up. The Falcons earned the doubles point when Robert Baylon and Jordan Azuma won at No. 2 over Satchel Benn and Daniel Dudockin 6-4.
In singles play, the Falcons split the first two matches to take an early 2-1 lead. Azuma fell at No. 6 to Benn 6-2, 6-4. The Falcons went back up with a win at No. 5 as Nick Vroman defeated Campi 6-3, 6-2.
The teams split the third and fourth singles matches to put the Falcons up 3-2. Hendrix dropped his No. 1 match to Delmas N'Tcha 6-4, 6-4. Waldman won at No. 2 over Nortney 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
Nevada rallied back with wins at No. 4 and No. 2. McKendree fell at No. 4 to Dudockin 7-6 (7-4), 6-2. Baylon dropped the final match at No. 3 to Batalla 3-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, March 28, at Fresno State.
