Women’s Tennis Falls To San Diego State

Air Force women's tennis (10-5, 2-3 MW) fell 4-0 at San Diego State (5-5, 3-3 MW) Sunday afternoon in a Mountain West dual at the Aztec Tennis Center on the San Diego State campus in San Diego, Calif.

The Falcons went 1-2 in doubles, allowing the point to the Aztecs. The Falcons won at No. 3 as Sydney Fitch and Shailla Alda defeated Abbie Mulbarger and Nnena Nadozie 6-4. The Falcons dropped a tough one at No. 1 doubles as Meredith Jones and Isabella Flodin fell to Tamara Arnold and Alicia Melosch 7-6 (10-8). The Falcons also fell at No. 2 as Alex Kuo and Ksenia Vasilyev dropped their match to Regina Pitts and Cecile Morin 6-2.

In singles, the Falcons fell at No. 3, 4 and 5 as SDSU swept for the win. Kuo fell at No. 3 to Nadozie 6-2, 6-1. Alda fell at No. 4 to Morin 6-4, 6-1. Mebeli Becerra fell at No. 5 to Melosch 6-2, 7-5.

The Falcons went unfinished at No. 1, 2 and 6 singles.

Air Force returns to action April 16, hosting New Mexico.
