Men’s Tennis With 5-2 Win at Idaho State

Air Force men's tennis (5-7) defeated Idaho State (4-10) Friday afternoon at the Capell Park tennis courts in Chubbuck, Idaho.

The Falcons won four singles matches and the doubles point to snap a three-match skid.

Air Force won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for the point. Robert Baylon and Jordan Azuma won at No. 2 over Wikus Robbertse and Hiroki Fujita 6-1. Justin Waldman and Sean McKendree won at No. 3 over Jamie Castillo-Lopez and Gary Rendek 6-1. Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista were leading Patrik Trhac and Aleksandr Petrovic 4-3 at the No. 1 match before it was called.

In singles, the Falcons won at the 3-through-6 positions for the win.

Baylon won at No. 3 over Castillo-Lopez 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. Jonathan Mascagni won at No. 4 over Fujita 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Sean McKendree got the match point with the win at No. 5 over Robbertse 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Nick Vroman also won at No. 6 over Ege Cankus 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).

Hendrix fell at No. 1 to Trhac 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 and Waldman fell at No. 2 to Petrovic 6-3, 6-4.

Air Force returns to action tomorrow against Montana in a neutral-site dual back at the Capell Park tennis courts.
