Men’s Tennis With 5-2 Win Against Montana

Air Force men's tennis (6-7) defeated Montana (6-9), 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Capell Park tennis courts in Chubbuck, Idaho. The Falcons completed a perfect 2-0 weekend with the win, as they defeated Idaho State a day earlier.

The Falcons won the doubles point and went 4-2 in singles play.

Air Force picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles for the point. Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista won at No. over Ed Pudney and Milo Benn 7-6. Jordan Azuma and Robert Baylon clinched the doubles point with a win at No. 2 over Oisin Shaffrey and Chase Bartlett.

The Falcons won three of the first four singles matches to take the win.

Paul Hendrix won at No. 1 over Pudney 6-2, 6-4 for the first singles point. Justin Waldman then fell at No. 2 to Shaffrey 6-2, 6-4.

Azuma then won at No. 6 over Pontus Hallgren 7-5, 7-2. Jonathan Mascagni clinched the match at No. 4 with a win over Benn 6-4, 7-5.

Baylon also earned at win at No. 3 over Bartlett 7-5, 6-3. Nick Vroman fell at No. 6 to Moritz Stoeger 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Air Force returns to action Wednesday April 7, hosting Northern Arizona.
