
Spencer leads Falcons on final day at Cougar Classic

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Kyle Spencer led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the Ping Cougar Classic, Saturday, April 24, at the Riverside Golf Club in Provo, Utah.
In the final round, Spencer made three birdies on the back nine for an even par, 72. Sophomore Isaac Layne was the top Falcon over the two-day tournament, finishing at 222, shooting 73 in the final round. Spencer shot 224 over 54 holes, followed by Jonathan Farmer shot 231, Colter Baca shot 234 and Luke Trujillo shot 236.
San Francisco, ranked 28th in the nation, won the tournament at 823 (-41). Boise State was second at 836 and the host school, BYU, was third at 838. Air Force placed 20th at 908 (+44).
Air Force returns to action April 30-May 1 at the Mountain West Championships in Tucson, Ariz.
