Spencer matches career-best round at MW Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. – Senior Kyle Spencer shot a three-under-par 69 in the final round of the Mountain West Championships, Saturday, May 1, at the Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. Spencer's bogey-free round featured three birdies, including a birdie on his final hole. He finished tied for 28th overall.
In the final round, Air Force shot a 297, tying the fourth best round of the season. Along with Spencer's 69, junior Colter Baca shot 74, junior Luke Trujillo and freshman Aaron Kuznik shot 77 and sophomore Isaac Layne shot 80. For the 54-hole tournament, Trujillo shot 227, while Kuznik came in at 233, Baca at 235 and Layne at 241.
Air Force placed 11th with a 54-hole score of 908. New Mexico and Nevada tied for the team title at 845 (-19), but the Lobos won the title on the first playoff hole. San Diego State and UNLV tied for third at 850 (-14) while Boise State was fifth at 851 (-13).
The MW Championships were the final event for the Falcons this season.
