Summer Sports Camps in full swing
6/18/2021 12:00:00 PM | General
Air Force Academy Sports Camps, presented by Centura, are in full swing at the Academy. This year marks the 41st year of camps.
There are 22 camps offered for ages 8-18, with an additional five elite camps. The first two weeks have already concluded with the final session scheduled for June 21-23.
This year featured commuter (day camps) camps only due to COVID protocols. Air Force head coaches and their staffs lead the camps and have been assisted by some of the top coaches in Colorado and around the country. As in year's past, Air Force Academy cadets make up the cadre that interact with campers daily in support and mentorship roles.
In addition to the incredible partnership with Centura Health, the Academy was proud to welcome back TrueSport as a partner for the seventh straight year. TrueSport is a program powered by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), designed to positively impact and preserve the future of sport in America. Air Force Sports Camps are once again recognized as a True Sport camp by USADA in 2021 which means that each camper will be exposed to the curriculum and will gain important lessons on what it means to be a TrueSport athlete.
Additionally, this year's camps were highlighted by a presentation to the AF Sports Camp cadet cadre by USADA CEO Travis Tygart, who visited the camps on June 16 and spoke to the cadets about leading with integrity and courage through adversity.
Most camps this summer were in a sold out status and AF Sports Camps looks forward to returning in 2022 with both commuter and boarder options available. Registration for the 2022 camps are expected to go live in Mid-December. All camp info is available on our web site www.goairforcefalcons.com/camps.
