Air Force Heads to Bill Dellinger Invitational

The Falcons will face several nationally-ranked teams on Thursday night in Oregon.
The Air Force cross country team is back on the course this Thursday (Sept. 23), when it travels to Springfield, Ore., for the annual Bill Dellinger Invitational.
MEET INFORMATION
The Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, will take place at the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield (90333 Sunderman Road) on Thursday, Sept. 23. The men will open the collegiate portion of the meet with an 8K race at 6:00 p.m. (PT), while the women will follow with a 6K race 40 minutes later. Live results will be provided by Athletic Timing.
WHO'S WHO
Air Force will take on host Oregon, as well as teams from Arkansas (women), Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado State, Gonzaga (men), Idaho, Ohio State (women), Oregon State (women), Portland State, San Francisco, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, Utah (women), and Washington State. Several teams were mentioned in the last USTFCCCA national standings (Sept. 14)
HISTORY 101
This will be the Falcons' second appearance at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. During their first race in 2019, the women bettered five teams mentioned in the national standings, including on top 10 team. Then-sophomore Mikayla Gallagher led the women with a sixth-place finish (141 total runners), while then-senior Justin Weber finished 40th out of 143 runners to lead the men to a ninth-place team finish.

Air Force returns to action on Friday, Oct. 9, when it competes at the UCCS Open in Colorado Springs.
