Kersten Earns Consolation Runner-Up At ITA Mountain Regional

Air Force men's tennis completed day four of competition Friday at the ITA Div. I Men's Mountain Regional Championships at the outdoor tennis courts in Provo, Utah. Freshman Arjun Kersten went 1-1 in the final day of action to earn runner-up in the consolation singles draw.
Kersten won his semifinals match in straight sets over Guillermo Martin of Montana 7-5, 6-1 to advance to the final. In the final, Kersten could not overcome Matteo Masala of Idaho, falling 6-2, 7-5.
For the tournament, the freshman went 5-2 overall. He had a 5-1 run through the consolation bracket where he won 10 consecutive sets until reaching the finals.
Air Force returns to action at the Nevada Invitational in Reno, Nevada, Oct. 8-10.
