Air Force Claims Seven Victories at New Mexico

Michael Scully was named the Academy's Boxer of the Week.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Seven members of the Air Force boxing team picked up victories this afternoon (Sept. 25), as a contingent of Falcons wrapped up competition against regional amateurs in Albuquerque. Senior Michael Scully earned the team's Boxer of the Week award after claiming a decision in the 152-pound bout.
Scully, who defeated Texas' Robert Quezada in the win, was one of seven Falcons to earn the decision in their respective bout. Andrew Lu put Air Force on the board with a 130-pound win over Michael Ray of SoHK, while Garrett Kim added another victory over a SoHK boxer with a 139-pound decision over Patrick Reyes. Zach Phillips and Tyler Dalzell earned victories in the 147-pound (Jalen King, Nicks) and 150-pound (Leon Hernandez, DA), respectively, while Walker Morris decisioned Moreau's Devonte Jackson in a 178-pound bout and Alan Long closed out the night with a 172-pound win over Ty Miller of event host Fit NHB.
Five other Falcons – Ryan Dinndorf (120 pounds, Steven Trujeque of Pal Gym), Leo Camacho (122 pounds, Tyler Mitchell of Fit NHB), Cat Tak (125 pounds, Alexa Garrabo of Rosales), Noah Lewis (132 pounds, Gama Garcia of DA), Lawrence Barrett (135 pounds, David Rivera of SoHK) – also competed in New Mexico, but dropped their respective decisions.
The Falcons return to the ring on Oct. 15, when they host another edition of Friday Night Fights.
