• The Air Force football team is honoring the B-52 Stratofortress with the 2021 edition of the Air Power Legacy Series uniform. The Falcons will debut the uniform for the Navy game this week, the 20-year anniversary of 9-11.

AIR FORCE-NAVY PLAYING ON 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
Air Force Director of Athletics Nathan Pine and Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced the Air Force at Navy football game was moved from Oct. 2 to Sept. 11 in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
It will be just the third time the two schools have played in September and the earliest the two schools have ever met.
LOOKING AT NAVY
Navy lost to Marshall, 49-7, last week to open the season ... The Midshipmen rank seventh in the nation in rushing with a 337.0 average ... James Harris leads the team in rushing, collecting 80 yards last week ... Xavier Arline is second with 76 yards ... Mitchell West leads the team in tackles with eight ... head coach Ken Niumatalolo is in his 14th season and has a 101-68 record, including a 7-6 mark vs. Air Force.

(Oct. 3, 2020) Air Force defeated Navy, 40-7, in Falcon Stadium Oct. 3 in the season opener. Kicker Tevye Schuettpelz-Rohl opened the scoring with a career-best 48-yard field goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Navy answered with a 73-yard touchdown connection from Tyger Gosling to Myles Fells early in the second quarter to take a 7-3 lead. Haaziq Daniels scored his first-career touchdown on Air Force's next drive to put the Falcons in front for good, 10-7. Schuettpelz-Rohl added two more field goals to make it 16-7 at the half. Following a school-record-tying fourth field goal by Schuettpelz-Rohl to open the second half, the Falcons added three fourth-quarter touchdown runs to make up the final margin. Air Force rushed for 369 yards and had 410 total yards. The defense held Navy to just 241 total yards, 90 yards rushing and 10 first downs. Timothy Jackson led the offense with 118 yards rushing while Brad Roberts added 103 yards and a touchdown in his first-career game. Daniels added 96 yards rushing and a score while hitting 4-9 passes for 41 yards. Senior George Silvanic led the defense with seven tackles and 1.5 sacks. Freshman Alec Mock added seven tackles and a sack. Grant Donaldson chipped in with six tackles.
LAST TIME AT NAVY
(Oct. 5, 2019) Navy defeated Air Force, 34-25, in Annapolis to win its fourth straight at home in the series. Air Force opened the scoring with a Jake Koehnke 42 yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Nelson Smith scored a pair of rushing touchdowns to give Navy a 14-3 lead midway through the second quarter. Koehnke would add a second field goal to cut the lead to 14-6 at the half. Following another Koehnke field goal, Malcom Perry scored on a 20 yard run to give the Midshipmen a 21-9 lead. Koehnke added his school-record-tying fourth field goal to make it 21-12, then a pair of one-yard touchdown runs by Donald Hammond III and Taven Birdow put the Falcons in front, 25-21, with 3:15 remaining. Navy retook the lead when Perry scored from three yards out to make it 28-25 with 22 seconds left. The Midshipmen scored a final touchdown as time ran out on a recovered fumble to make up the final margin. Navy finished with 376 total yards, including 214 rushing. Perry led the way with 111 yards on 23 carries. He also hit 5-7 passes for 144 yards. Air Force finished with 354 total yards, including 246 passing. Hammond led the way with 77 yards rushing and hit 10-25 passes for 205 yards. Demonte Meeks led the defense with 11 tackles.

Following a score by Lafayette, Davis and Daniels added another touchdown run each to make it 28-7 at the half. Lafayette added a second touchdown in the third quarter before the Falcons closed out the scoring in the fourth with a third touchdown run from Daniels. The Falcons had 420 total yards, including 370 rushing. Brad Roberts led the Falcons with 111 yards rushing while Davis added 101 yards and two scores on just four carries. Daniels finished with 72 yards and a career-high three touchdowns while hitting 3-5 passes for 50 yards. Davis added two catches for a team-best 27 yards. The Falcons held Lafayette to just 287 total yards, including 42 rushing. Caleb Humphrey and Zion Kelly led the defense with five tackles each, while Alec Mock and Demonte Meeks added four each.
