Air Force Wins Home-Opener Over Creighton, 5-2

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis won its home-opener over Creighton, 5-2, Friday night at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons improved to 2-2 on the season.

After surrendering the doubles point, the Falcons posted a 5-1 mark in singles play to rally to the win.

In doubles, the duo of Nick Vroman and Justin Waldman won at No. 3 over Stratton Brown and Zack Maline 6-1 for the lone Falcon win. The Falcons fell at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Vroman got things going in singles for Air Force, winning at No. 3 over Matthew Lanahan 6-3, 6-3. After Creighton re-took the lead with a win at No. 2 singles, Robert Baylon won at No. 1 over Casey Ross 6-4, 3-6 (6) to tie it up.

The Falcons took control of the match at No. 4 singles as Arjun Kersten rallied back in three sets over Shin Inoue 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (4). Justin Waldman clinched the match for Air Force at No. 5 singles with a win over Jose Oscar Diaz 7-5, 7-0. Kyle Garner capped the night with a win at No. 6 over Ethan Neil 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (9).

Air Force returns to action Sunday, Jan. 23, hosting GCU. The match begins at 9 am MT.
