Fitch, Odom Highlight Falcons’ Day One at ITA Mountain Regional

LAS VEGAS – Air Force women's tennis opened day one at the ITA Mountain Regional on the UNLV campus, notching a win in the doubles main draw.
Sydney Fitch/Alexis Odom defeated BYU's Smith/Lyn 8-4 to remain undefeated in fall doubles (5-0), advancing to a day-two match against Idaho State's Lola O'Lideadha/Sol O'Lideadha. Fitch/Odom claimed overall victory in the main draw at Air Force's Bedford Cup, going 4-0 in as many days to top the bracket.
Play will resume Thursday morning with the completion of Flight Two singles, followed by second round doubles, along with second round and round of 16 singles.
From Coach Gidley:
"We had some really great matches where we just fell short. I was really pleased with the fight and effort of all the players today. With this being their second time on the courts for 25 dates, we've got a lot of tennis in store for us and I am excited to see where this team will be at in four more weeks. It was great to see Sydney Fitch pushed today - She showed a lot of maturity in her match in singles."
