Sherman named Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State senior forward Sammie Murdock has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate senior goalkeeper Diera Walton was selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Week. Air Force's Caeli Sherman was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

Led Utah State to a 2-0 win over Boise State, clinching a berth in the MW tournament.
Recorded one goal and one assist for three points.
Registered two shots, including one shot on goal.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DIERA WALTON, UTAH STATE
Senior, Goalkeeper, Draper, Utah/Jordan HS

Anchored Utah State's defense in a 2-0 victory over Boise State, clinching a berth in the MW tournament.
Posted a shutout in the 2022 regular-season finale and recorded five saves.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CAELI SHERMAN, AIR FORCE
Forward, Salt Lake City, Utah/Judge Memorial HS

Helped Air Force conclude the 2022 season with a 1-0 win over Colorado College.
Scored the game-winning goal.
Recorded four shots, including two shots on goal.
