Harvey captured the second all-conference award of her career with today's selection.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following a stellar season on both offense and defense, Air Force junior Joi Harvey was awarded all-conference distinction this morning (Nov. 23), as the Mountain West announced its list of postseason awards for the 2022 volleyball campaign. It is the second time in three years that she has been named to the all-conference team.
A native of Goodyear, Ariz., Harvey led the team in kills (187), kills-per-set (2.63), hitting (.352), blocks (77), blocks per set (1.08) and points (234.5) during the Falcons' 18-match conference slate, while ranking among the league's top 10 in both hitting and blocking during that same span of matches. Highlighted by a career-best 17-kill outing in the Falcons' victory over Fresno State, Harvey led Air Force in kills 10 times during conference play, while also recording team-high marks in blocks (10) and hitting (four) multiple times. Harvey, who was named MW Defensive Player of the Week during the non-conference season, hit at least .400 in eight of the squad's final 10 contests, helping Air Force roll through the second half of the MW season with an impressive 7-3 ledger.
Harvey, who also earned all-MW honors and the MW Freshman of the Year award following the 2020 season, is just the second Air Force player at the Division I level to earn all-conference honors more than once in a career, joining Akokwe Clement, who collected all-MW honors during the 2014-15 seasons.
Air Force finished the regular season with a 15-15 record and a 7-11 mark in conference play. The 15 overall wins are the second-highest win total in Air Force's Division I history, while the seven Mountain West wins is tied for the program's most conference wins at the DI level.
