Air Force Falls At #16 Santa Clara, 14-9

Air Force men's water polo (22-10, 3-4 WWPA) fell at #16 Santa Clara (10-12, 3-4 WWPA), 14-9, in a WWPA game Friday afternoon at Sullivan Aquatic Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
A big second quarter by Santa Clara was ultimately the difference in an otherwise evenly played game.
The teams played to a 2-2 tie after the first quarter. The Broncos then outscored the Falcons 5-1 in the second to take a 7-3 halftime lead. The teams scored four goals each in the third and Air Force added two more goals in the fourth.
Sophomore Jacob Yi led the Falcons with three goals. Freshman Jackson Carter added two goals and an assist. Junior Ian Christie had three assists. Senior AJ Kuypers had nine saves in goal.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Nov. 6, closing out the regular season with a WWPA game at Fresno Pacific. The game is at 2 pm PT.
