2022 Big 12 Wrestling Championships

The Falcons head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to take a shot at Big 12 Championship titles, March 5-6, at the BOK Center. Session I is slated for a 10 a.m. CT start. Sessions 1-3 will be aired on ESPN+. Championship bouts will be aired on ESPN 2.

Wrestlers from Air Force, Iowa State, No. 9 Mizzou, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, No. 17 Northern Iowa, No. 24 Oklahoma, No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 25 South Dakota State, Utah Valley, West Virginia, and Wyoming will be competing for Big 12 titles and NCAA Tournament bids.

The Big 12 garnered 58 selections, second-most out of the Division I conferences. The Conference received no less than four pre-allocations per weight with the highest being eight at the 174-pound weight class.

LAST TIME AT THE BIG 12
Air Force placed three wrestlers at their respective weight classes, while heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson claimed an automatic bid into the 2021 NCAA Championships. As a team, AF finished with 32.5 points to finish in 11th overall.
 
Hendrickson became the first freshman to qualify for nationals for Air Force since Josh Martinez in 2013. Martinez went on to become a four-time qualifier. The rookie, in his Big 12 debut, placed third at heavyweight, tying the highest finish for an AF wrestler in the Big 12 era.
 
Also placing at their weight class were senior Cody Surratt at 174, who took sixth, and then-sophomore Cody Phippen, who placed seventh at 125. Both became two-time placers after taking seventh and fifth, respectively, last season.
