Eight AF Wrestlers and All-Air Force Team Head to the U.S. Open

Falcons under the banner of the Air Force Regional Training Center alongside wrestlers from the All-Air Force team are headed to the 2022 USMC U.S. Open to compete in the UWW U20 and Senior Nationals, April 27 to May 2, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eight AFRTC athletes and six athletes of the All-Air Force team will compete across three styles of wrestling for spots at the World Team Trials.
Air Force's Wyatt Hendrickson (120 Kg) and Sam Wolf (79 Kg) will represent the AFRTC in the UWW Senior Division alongside the six All-Air Force wrestlers. Garrett Kuchan (65 Kg), Gabe Hawthorne (70 Kg), Ty Ryan (74 Kg), Jack Ganos (74 Kg), Gage Musser (86 Kg) and Andrew Wenzel (86 Kg) will compete in the UWW U20 divison.
Derek Wilson, Mitch Brown, Xavear Cullors, Mariah Anderson, Haley Franich and Jeffrey Warra of the All-Air Force team were selected from more than 300 applicants Air Force wide to represent the world's most powerful Air Force at the event. The athletes spent the past six weeks teamed up with USAFA wrestling as they trained under AFRTC head coach Dustin Kilgore and staff, alongside Academy's AFRTC wrestlers.
Top placers from each division will earn spots at the Junior and Senior World Team Trials hosted at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, and Iowa City, Iowa, respectively.
Weight classes are decided by kilograms. Fans can follow the action via a subscription based live stream on FloWrestling, while full brackets and results will be available for free on the FloArena.
