Layne and Kahle led Falcons on final day of MW Championships

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Junior Isaac Layne and freshman Cameron Kahle led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the Mountain West Conference Championships, Sunday, May 1, at the Gold Mountain Olympic Course in Bremerton, Wash.
Layne shot a 73 and Kahle shot 75 in the final round. Kahle was the top Falcon over the 54-hole tournament with a 225 to tie for 38th. Layne placed 46th with a 228. On the final day, Layne shot a 34 on the back side, including birdies on three of his final five holes, en route to his second straight 73 at the tournament. Kahle played the front side even and make three birdies on the day as he shot 76-74-75 over the 54-hole tournament.
Freshman Christopher Park shot 243, sophomore Aaron Kuznik shot 245 and sophomore Max Heupel shot 246.
Air Force placed 11th with a three-round team score of 933. San Diego State rallied to win the tournament with a three-round score of 842 (-22). The Aztecs passed Colorado State in the final round as the Rams finished second at 846 (-18). Nevada (854) was third and Boise State (856) was fourth.
