USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force captured three weekly cross country awards from the Mountain West this afternoon (Sept. 20) for the program's largest weekly haul. In the first travel meet of his career, Child paced a relatively young Air Force contingent to a runner-up finish in the Men's Division I "Red Race" of the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational. Clocking an 8K debut of 24:27.20, Child was the No. 2 DI finisher and placed sixth overall in the full 323-runner field – the Falcons' best individual finish at that meet since 2014.
Sannes was the Falcons' No. 2 runner at the meet, finishing fifth among Division I runners – and ninth in the overall field – to help the Falcons to a runner-up finish in the Red Race. Clocking an 8K debut of 24:30.57, he was the top freshman finisher in the Division I field. On the women's side, Heil was Air Force's No. 2 finisher in the 5K event, clocking a 5K debut of 18:27.17 to place 27th out of 311 runners in the overall field during her first collegiate travel meet.
