No. 28 Falcon Wrestling rolls past CSU Bakersfield, 30-9

USAF ACADEMY – Air Force won seven of 10 bouts to outscore CSU Bakersfield, 30-9, Sunday afternoon in Clune Arena. The Falcons improve to 4-1 on the season while the Roadrunners drop to 0-3.

The Falcons were led by Noah Blake and No. 7 Wyatt Hendrickson who recorded falls in their respective bouts. Giano Petrucelli (165) and Calvin Sund (197) put up bonus points with a major decision and a technical fall, respectively.

Air Force's standout freshman Tucker Owens led off the meet with an 8-3 decision win over Richie Sandoval for his 18^th win this season. Bakersfield rattled off wins in the ensuing three matches, building a 9-3 lead on the team score.

The Falcons got back to their winning ways in the 157 class as Jack Ganos posted a 6-3 decision over Brock Rogers. Junior 165-pounder Petrucelli notched his 18^th win this season with a convincing 9-1 major decision over Brock Rogers.

Air Force continued their roll in the 174 class as No. 22 Sam Wolf blanked Albert Urias, 6-0. Wolf is 8-1 on the season. Clune Arena erupted behind Noah Blake in the 184 class as he pinned Jacob Hanses at the 2:55 mark. Calvin Sund extended the lead with a 16-1 technical fall, putting on a clinic against Mateo Morales.

Falcon heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson recorded his 10^th pin this season as he made quick work of Jake Andrews (0:49). Hendrickson is 16-1 this season with 12 bonus point wins to his credit.

Air Force returns to action on the road as they take on California Baptist, Saturday (Jan. 21) at 6 p.m. PT.
