Air Force senior tight end Kyle Patterson has been invited to the NFL Combine, which is Feb. 28 to March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The combine is televised by the NFL Network. Patterson is the first Falcon to receive an invite since Jordan Jackson following the 2021 season.
Patterson played in seven games in 2022. He recorded a career-high three catches for 32 yards at Wyoming. He was a preseason all-Mountain West selection by Athlon Magazine. He had three catches for 81 yards in 2021, averaging 27.0 yards per catch. Patterson had a career-long catch of 59 yards at Utah State. He led the Falcons in receiving in 2020 with 12 catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first tight end to lead the program since 2002.
Air Force finished the season 10-3 overall and was second in the Mountain West Mountain Division with a 5-3 mark. The Falcons posted their third straight 10-win season, excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season, which only Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Utah and Oregon have matched. Air Force won a series-record 21st Commander-in-Chief's Trophy and defeated Baylor to win the Armed Forces Bowl. The Baylor victory marks the fourth consecutive bowl game and third straight over a Power 5 program.
