LARAMIE- Following a Wyoming equalizer in the 76th minute, the Falcons saw Thursday's match with the Cowgirls result in a 1-1 tie.
Air Force did manage an early score, thanks to Mia Otero. The junior notched her fourth goal of the season in the 14th minute, a new career-high for the Bay Stater. Otero's previous career-high of three goals was set in 2021, her freshman season. Otero's 11 points this season are the most by an Air Force player since Faith Lee's 13 points in 2021.
Including Otero's score, Air Force managed three shots on goal in the first half, while Sydney Davis was responsible for three saves to help the Falcons stake claim to a 1-0 halftime lead.
Air Force attempted to add on to its lead, forcing two shots on goal over the first 25 minutes of the second half, though the Cowgirls eventually tied the match in the 76th minute. Following the tying score, Paige Gartner's 77th minute shot was stopped, while Jordi Ives narrowly missed a potential game-winner that hit the crossbar in the 83rd minute.
Addie Doyle was the lone Falcon with multiple shots on goal, while Ives' five attempts were a team-high. Davis' seven saves on Thursday mark a season-high for the senior goalkeeper.
The draw is just the second of the year for Air Force, both occurring in conference play. The Falcons are now 1-5-1 in road games this season.
Next, Air Force will complete its road trip with a contest versus Colorado State on Sunday, October 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm MT.
