USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team will face off against service academy rival Army West Point in Denver next month, as the two storied programs meet at The Fillmore Auditorium (1510 N. Clarkson Street), on Friday, Nov. 3, for a free event, presented by USAA.
The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. (MT), with doors opening one hour prior. Air Force will host a pep rally, featuring the Academy's Drum & Bugle Corps and spirit squads prior to the main event – an 11-bout showdown between programs that have combined for 31 of the last 42 NCBA men's team titles.
The annual contest between the two academies, which is held in conjunction with Air Force's football game against Army at Empower Field at Mile High on Nov. 4, will be the Falcons' first competition in Denver.
The Air Force men have accounted for 20 team titles and 17 runner-up finishes since joining the National Collegiate Boxing Association in 1980, while the women have amassed 21 individual medals in their six years of NCBA competition.
