USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Jehyve Floyd joins the Air Force men's basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season, announced today by head coach Joe Scott. Floyd comes to the Academy after playing basketball professionally in Europe since 2019.
"Jehyve joining our staff is welcome addition," Scott said. "His experiences as a player, a very good college career and playing at the professional level, will be extremely helpful in our team's development and players individually."
Floyd has played and started for several top European competitions, including EuroLeague, EuroCup and Champions League. In 2019-20, led the Greek Basket League in blocked shots and was part of the Greek Super Cup winners in 2020 and 2021. In 2020-21, he led the Israel Basketball Premier league in two-point shot percentage and was second in blocks per game. Floyd, who is a center/power forward, has played for Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos.
A 2019 graduate of Holy Cross, Floyd had a standout basketball career with the Crusaders, where he played for current Air Force head coach Joe Scott and associate head coach Dave Metzendorf. He is a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year (2018 & 2019) and also a two-time Holy Cross Male Athlete of the Year (2018 & 2019).
His accolades at Holy Cross also include earning the Honorable John P. Cooney Memorial Award, given to the student-athlete who performed beyond all expectations with courage, loyalty and dedication, and also the Joseph J. Reilly Award, given to a fourth-year student who exemplifies the ideals of multiculturalism.
In addition to his time on the court, Floyd was just as active off it, serving across various organizations during his time at Holy Cross. He was the co-founder for Men of Color Athletes (MOCA), and served as a student assistant with the Crusader Athletic Fund, with a role in building relationships with alumni.
Floyd graduated from Holy Cross with a degree in Sociology.
