COLLEGE STATION- The Falcons wrapped up the opening afternoon of competition at the Art Adamson Invitational, as Air Force sits fourth among the four teams.
Going toe-to-toe against the likes of Texas A&M, LSU, and Utah, Air Force held its own in Wednesday's initial slate of races.
In the 200 Freestyle Relay, the foursome of Chase Dwornicki, Joseph Moore, Gavin Peterman, and James Winterfield placed seventh after racing to a time of 1:22.60. The finish now stands as the Falcons top standing in the event this season.
Winterfield also placed 13th in the 200 IM following his 1:49.79, the quickest time among Falcons in the race. Dwornicki offered a solid showing in the 50 Freestyle as well, clocking out at 21.20. As a result, the freshman established a new top-time in the race on Wednesday.
The 500 Freestyle saw a number of Falcons entered. Of note, Louis Body (4:33.42), Ralph Fiscus (4:34.60), and Tyler Surratt (4:35.79) paced Air Force in the event. Each of the six Falcons to take part in the 500 Freestyle set improved season-best times.
The Falcons will resume the Art Adamson Invitational on Thursday, with preliminaries beginning at 8:30 pm MT and the final round projected to start at 4:30 pm MT.
