
Air Force Defeats Lindenwood, 76-58, At Air Force Classic

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball defeated Lindenwood 76-58 in the opening game of the Air Force Classic Multi-Team Event Thursday night at Clune Arena. Junior guard Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 21 points.
The Falcons held Lindenwood to 32 percent shooting on the night. Air Force was an efficient 46 percent from the field and 47 percent from three-point range.
Four Falcons reached double-figures in scoring, with Taylor surpassing 20 points for the third straight game. Taylor made a career-high 10 free throws, adding three assists and three made three's.
Joining Taylor in doubles figures were juniors Jeffrey Mills, Beau Becker and Chase Beasley. Mills scored a career-high 17 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting from the field. Mills added six rebounds.
Becker scored 13 points, reaching double-figures for the fourth straight game. Beasley scored 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, which included a 2-of-2 night from three-point range.
Air Force controlled the first half, building to a 41-29 lead. The Falcons held the Lions to just five made field goals. Lindenwood stayed in the game by getting to the free throw line 17 times and making 15 free throws. The first-half featured 30 combined fouls and 42 free throw attempts between the two teams. Air Force got to the line 25 times, making 20.
The Falcons outscored Lindenwood 35-29 in the second half. Forward Keenon Cole led the Lions with 17 points.
Air Force got to the free throw line 39 times in the game, making 28. It was the most free throws made in a game for the Falcons since 2017.
The Air Force Classic resumes with day two action tomorrow. Omaha plays Lindenwood at 2 pm, followed by Air Force taking on William & Mary at 4:30 pm.
