
Falcons to host Lopes at Cadet Natatorium

Air Force's men's and women's swimming and diving programs are set to take on the Grand Canyon Lopes at Cadet Natatorium on Friday, November 3 for a dual meet, marking the Falcons third home appearance.
While for the women, Friday does not represent a conference matchup, the meet does stand as the second Western Athletic Conference event for the men. Action at USAFA will begin at 2:00 pm MT.

Last Time Out (Women)
-Air Force hosted both Denver and Wyoming on October 20-21, dropping both head-to-head meets. The Falcons stand at 2-6 thus far in head-to-head competition.
-Against Denver, Ryan Mills notched yet another win in the 100 Freestyle, besting the field with a time of 52.61.
-She also placed third in the 50 Freestyle (24.08), and was the lead for the Falcons 200 Freestyle Relay Team that placed second following a time of 1:35.02.
-Versus Wyoming, Anna Ashley was the victor in the 100 Backstroke, claiming the win with a time of 57.14.
-Ashley, Abby Turner, Allana Clarke, and Naomi Furman teamed up to win the 200 Medley Relay following a time of 1:42.82, winning the event by nearly three seconds.
-In the 100 Backstroke, Ashley provided a winning swim after touching out at 57.14.
-Turner swam to a first-place finish in the 50 Freestyle, clocking in at 23.68. The junior also raced to a win in the 100 Freestyle following a time of 51.98.
-Abigail Hardy raced to a winning time in the 200 Butterfly, clocking in at 2:08.97.
-Maintaining her momentum, Clarke raced to a win in the 100 Butterfly after a time of 56.51.
Turner named Swimmer of the Week by Mountain West (October 24)
-Following a stellar week in the pool, Air Force junior Abby Turner was named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week for her efforts.
-As she's done for the majority of her Air Force tenure, Turner paced the competition in multiple freestyle events.
-In the Falcons second meet of the weekend versus Wyoming on October 21, Turner raced to first-place finishes in both the 50 Freestyle (23.68) and the 100 Freestyle (51.98).
-That same afternoon, Turner swam as part of Air Force's 200 Medley Relay team, helping guide the Falcons to win following team time of 1:42.82.
-She also aided Air Force's efforts in the 400 Freestyle Relay, where the Falcons placed second (3:30.74).
-Against Denver on October 20, Turner finished no worse than second in all three of her swims.
-The West Virginia native raced to a runner-up finish in the 50 Freestyle (23.96), as well as playing a role in Air Force's 200 Medley Relay (1:44.23) and 200 Freestyle Relay (1:35.02) placements.
-The award is Turner's first Swimmer of the Week honor, having been named Freshman of the Week by the Mountain West back on January 11, 2022.

-Similar to the women, the men were defeated by both Denver and Wyoming on October 20-21.
-In the Falcons home debut against Denver, freshman Tyler Surratt was the lone Falcon to notch a winning time, placing first in the 500 Freestyle after touching out at 4:46.34.
-In competition with Wyoming, Louis Body picked up a win in the 200 Backstroke, clocking in at 1:53.25, more than two seconds better than the next swimmer. Body also placed third in the 100 Backstroke, touching out at 52.84.
-Anthony Sebastian nabbed victory in the 200 Breaststroke, clocking in at 2:05.42.
-On the boards, Alex Kenyon blew away the competition, claiming victory in the 3-Meter with a score of 350.70.
