Volleyball Head Coach Keith Barnett will not return

Director of Athletics Nathan Pine announced today that Air Force is making a change in its volleyball leadership, as head coach Keith Barnett's contract will not be extended.

"I would like to thank Coach Barnett for his contributions to the volleyball program over the last nine seasons. We are appreciative of his time as the head coach and assistant before that and for all that he did for our cadet-athletes during his tenure. Now is the right time for new leadership, fresh prospective and vision for our program and our cadet-athletes as we continue to develop leaders of character for our Air and Space Forces," Pine stated.

Barnett served as head coach from 2019-23 after serving as associate head coach in 2018 and assistant coach from 2015-17. He led the program to a 54-76 (.415) overall record and a 32-53 (.376) Mountain West mark as the Air Force head coach.

George Nelson, senior associate AD and sport administrator for volleyball, will assist with program continuity while the Academy conducts a national search for the next head coach.
