
(RV) Air Force Rally Comes Up Just Short In 14-12 Setback At #18 Pacific

(RV) Air Force (16-13 overall, 1-3 WCC) men's water polo fell to #18 Pacific (13-14, 2-2 WCC), 14-12, in West Coast Conference play Friday night at Chris Kjeldsen Pool at Eberhardt Aquatics Center in Stockton, Calif.
Trailing by multiple goals for most of the game, Air Force pulled to within a goal with 1:20 to play at 13-12. Pacific scored an insurance goal with 47 seconds left to play to go back up two. The Falcons had two more shot attempts, but were unable to get any more goals.
Freshman Tom Leggett led the Falcons with four goals. Senior Ian Christie added two goals and an assist. Junior Liam Markus had seven saves in the start in goal. Sophomore Luca Smith relieved Markus and had five saves.
Pacific jumped ahead 3-1 after the first quarter and led 9-6 at halftime. The Falcons out-scored the Tigers 3-2 in the third quarter to pull to within two at 11-9.
In the fourth quarter, freshman Alex Zarcu scored with 1:20 to play to make it the 13-12 game. Pacific would get the insurance goal and hold off the Falcons the rest of the way.
Air Force returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 4 at UC Merced. The game starts at noon PT.
