USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Sophomore libero Jordan Suan and junior outside hitter Ella Tschuor were named to the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball Team by the College Sports Communicators this morning (Dec. 12), in recognition of their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
It is just the second time in Air Force Volleyball history that multiple Falcons were honored with academic honors from the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) in the same season, as the pair joined Caroline Kurtz and Nichole Stilwell as the only teammates named Academic All-District in the same year. In addition, Tschuor – who also garnered academic all-district honors last fall, became just the fourth Falon to receive the distinction more than once in a career, joining Kurtz (2009, 2010), Stilwell (2008, 2010) and Ayesha Hein (2012, 2013).
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in at least 90-percent of the institution's sets os serve as a starter in at least 66 percent of their team's matches.
In addition to their Academic All-District selection, both Suan and Tschuor were named finalists for CSC Academic All-America status and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members and announced in January.
