Petraitis Claims Sixth Mountain West Freshman Of The Week Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rytis Petraitis of Air Force men's basketball earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors, announced today by the conference office. He earned the honor for the sixth time this season.

Petraitis averaged 14 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week. He went 19 of 22 from the free throw line in the two games.

Against Utah State, Petraitis scored 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds. The forward went 8 of 10 from the line and set a new Air Force freshman record for most free throws in a season. Against Wyoming, he posted 18 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. The Arlington, Texas, native went 11 for 12 from the line and added four assists and a steal.

Air Force has now won eight MW FOW honors this season.
