Air Force Goes 3-0 on First Day of WAC Main Event

SEATTLE, Wash. – Fighter of the Night honors for junior Angelo Ganac highlighted a perfect card for the Air Force boxing team on Feb. 3, as the squad opened competition at the prestigious WAC Main Event in Seattle. Ganac, the second Falcon in as many years to earn top fighter honors for the first night of competition at the Washington Athletic Club.
Ganac, who claimed the 185-pound title over Max Brenner from Miami Ohio, was one of three victors for the Falcons, as a pair of heavyweight contenders earned victories during their respective bouts. Junior Victor Benitez decisioned Connecticut's Mike DeLuca in the first heavyweight bout, while sophomore Ryan Corner defeated Washington's Jesus Mata in the other heavyweight contest.
The Falcons continue competition at the WAC Main Event tonight (Feb. 4).
