
Air Force Downed By Colorado State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force men's basketball (12-13, 3-9 MW) dropped a 69-53 contest to Colorado State (11-14, 3-9 MW) in Mountain West action Tuesday night at Clune Arena. Sophomores Beau Becker and Jake Heidbreder led the Falcons with 13 points each.
Colorado State shot 56 percent from the field and Isaiah Stevens and John Tonje combined for 41 points. Tonje scored a game-high 21 points on 9 of 14 shooting. Stevens added 20 points, going 9 for 13 from the field.

The Falcons spent most of the game playing catch-up and could never get a big run going. Air Force shot 42 percent from the field but stayed in the game with nine threes.
Colorado State shot 54 percent from the field in the opening half to take a 32-26 lead at the break. Isaiah Stevens scored 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting and John Tonje added nine points, hitting a pair of three's.
The Falcons shot 50 percent in the opening half, but were plagued by seven turnovers. Beau Becker led the Falcons with eight points in the first half, knocking down a pair of three's.
The Falcons struggled on the offensive end in the second half, shooting 35 percent.
Heidbreder and Becker both made three three's each. Camden Vander Zwaag led the bench with eight points, making both of his three-point attempts. Jeffrey Mills and Corbin Green added seven points each. Rytis Petraitis had a game-high five assists and five rebounds.
Air Force returns to action Friday, Feb. 10, hosting New Mexico. Tip time is 7 pm MT and the game will be televised by Fox Sports 1 (FS1).
