Air Force 2023 football schedule announced

The Mountain West released the 2023 Air Force football schedule today as part of the conference's overall schedule release. The Air Force schedule features five games in Falcon Stadium, including Robert Morris, Utah State, San Diego State, Wyoming and UNLV, along with a home game vs. Army at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.
The Falcons open the season Saturday, Sept. 2, by hosting Robert Morris in Falcon Stadium. The Falcons then play Sam Houston at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, Sept. 9. Air Force returns home the following week to open Mountain West play by hosting Utah State, Sept. 16, before playing at San Jose State in the first conference road contest Sept. 23. Air Force returns home to host San Diego State, Sept. 30.
Air Force hosts Wyoming, Oct. 14, following a bye week before opening defense of its Commander-in-Chief's Trophy title in 2022 by playing at Navy, Oct. 21. The Falcons head north to play in-state rival Colorado State, Oct. 28, before closing the CIC series by playing Army at Empower Field at Mile High Nov. 4.
Air Force begins its final-regular season stretch at Hawaii, Nov. 11, before returning home to host UNLV Nov. 18. The Falcons close out the regular season at defending Mountain Division champion Boise State, Nov. 25.
Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports will now initiate a selection procedure, which will include shifting additional games to non-Saturdays.
The full MW schedule is comprised of 98 games, including 48 Conference matchups, as the league begins its first season without divisions since 2012 (not including the 2020 season, impacted by COVID-19).
The MW will debut a three-year schedule rotation where, within Conference play, each institution will face two opponents annually and six other teams on an alternating basis. Throughout the cycle, all institutions will play each other at least twice, including once at home and once on the road.
