Air Force Falls to New Mexico

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis dropped a 4-0 home contest to New Mexico (10-4, 1-0 MW) in Mountain West action Sunday afternoon at the USAFA Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons dropped to 11-6, 0-2 MW on the season.

Air Force opened with the first doubles win, but dropped the next two matches to allow the Lobos to get the point. Arjun Kersten and Phillip Deaton won at No. 2 over Samaha/Noroozian 6-1.

New Mexico swept singles at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to clinch the match. Kersten fell at No. 1 to Arda Azakara 6-2, 6-4. Nick Vroman fell at No. 2 to Aram Noroozian 6-2, 7-5. Phillip Deaton dropped his match at No. 3 to Rafael Abdulsalam 6-4, 6-3.

Freshmen Jack Brown and AJ Moore were tied 1-1 in their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles before UNM clinched.

Air Force returns to action Thursday, April 6 at Utah State.
