Air Force Downed By San Diego State On Senior Day

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis fell 4-2 to San Diego State (3-15, 1-5 MW) on Senior Day Saturday afternoon in Mountain West action at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons cap the regular season with a 12-10 overall record and 1-5 mark in MW play.

San Diego State won the doubles match and went 3-2 in singles to pull away.

The Aztecs opened with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

The Falcons opened singles play with back-to-back wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Arjun Kersten defeated Johannes Seeman at No. 1 in straight sets 6-2, 7-5. Phillip Deaton then won in straight sets at No. 2 over Chikaya Sato 6-3, 6-3.

The Aztecs rallied back with consecutive wins at No. 3-5, clinching with the win at No. 5.

Seniors Justin Waldman and Jonathan Mascagni played their final home contests for the Falcons. Waldman fell at No. 3 and Mascagni was up a set at No. 6 before the match was clinched. Prior to the match, both seniors were honored for their four years of dedication to Air Force men's tennis.

Air Force returns to action at the Mountain West Championships, held April 26-28 in Las Vegas.
